With city ordinances placing a lot of restrictions on smoking in public places, cigar aficionados need to be kept up to date about all of Los Angeles’s hidden gems.

The Los Angeles Fire Department provides enforcement of the California Labor Code 6404.5. This bans smoking in places of employment with the exception of tobacco shops and private residences. Because places are changing their policies, it’s necessary to stay updated. Here are some places you can smoke and have a cocktail in Los Angeles.

Anyone looking for a man cave? Somewhere to drink, smoke, and watch sports? This Beverly Hills cigar club is the perfect place for you. Contrary to popular belief, the club actually boasts a very laidback and comfortable atmosphere. What screams a chill night more than discussing sports with a single malt scotch on one hand and stogie on the other.

4. Ten Pound

Talk about exclusivity. Caña Rum Bar, designed to mimic the allure of the 1930s Caribbean Isles, is a member’s only bar. It debuted in 2010 as Los Angeles’s most intimate and evocative bar, featuring over 250 rums. Take your drink outside and enjoy a pleasant smoke with it. Tables can get reserved and the place fills up fast on the weekends, so go early.

6. Harlowe

If you’re looking for something more low key, check out this new spot in West Hollywood. Its large, spacious, open patio has a great view, facing Santa Monica Blvd. They don’t explicitly encourage smoking, so bring your own cigars. Its chill ambience and delicious cocktails make for a great place to hang out.

7. Checker’s Lounge

Los Angeles, CA 90071

For everyone working in the Financial District of Downtown Los Angeles, Checker’s Lounge is the place for a quick detour. After work, come with your office mates to smoke and sip on Scotch at the outdoor patio. It’s open from 3 to 11 p.m. daily.
